Fruit Fly Poem

Today I wanna talk about the drosophila melonogaster,
the animal that let us learn many facts much faster.
Scientists experimented on the common fruit fly,
and their discoveries proved to push them to new heights.
These experiments taught us a lot about genetics,
and boy these scientists sure did not regret it.
Without the fruit fly we would be years behind in biology,
doesn’t that fact mess with your psychology?
